During COVID-19, AluHouse awarded the construction of Penny’s Bay quarantine center .The whole project (Phase IA/2/4 ) consists of 1123 two-storey habitable quarantine units, as well as other supporting facilities such as Control Centres, Medical Centres and CAS stations. All these modules were prefabricated off-site at AluHouse’s plant at Zhaoqing, Guangdong, and then shipped to Lantau Island for final installation. The completion of this project played an important role in the fight against COVID-19 in Hong Kong.
Being the largest transitional housing project in Hong Kong, AluHouse adopts a highly efficient and environmental friendly building approach - Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) in the construction works for this project.This project will provide eight blocks of MiC buildings with up to 2,000 units of varying types and sizes, including units for 1-2 persons, 3-4 persons and 5-6 persons, as well as barrier-free units. The residential units will be provided to low-income families who have been on the public housing waiting list for three or more years and to those who are living in dire conditions or with critical needs.The whole project is expected to accommodate nearly 40,000 underprivileged residents in the following seven years, and the first batch of units will be ready for move-in in the first quarter of 2022.
This project consists of 38 sets of modular houses of varying types, including villas for 1-2 persons, 3-4 persons and 6-8 persons etc. Specifically, each villa has a private space equipped with an ecological hot spring and pool, private courtyard and garden.All modules are prefabricated in the plant, including structural system, indoor and outdoor decoration, water and electricity, bathroom facilities, outdoor corridors, stairs and railings, etc. With its trendy and stylish layout, a large number of visitors are attracted to visit this resort.
