Mannings (Asia) Consultants Limited (Mannings), formed in 2005, is a local engineering consultant firm in Hong Kong Special Administration Region, China (HKSAR). We are an engineering consultant with a focus on the field of infrastructure developments, covering civil engineering including road and structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, drainage engineering and marine engineering; and traffic engineering. Currently we have staff force about 250 and it is believed that we are the largest local infrastructure engineering consultant in HKSAR. On 13 September 2018, Mannings through Boltek Holdings Limited was successfully listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited (Stock Code 8601).
They are the Contractor’s Designer (contract value HK$1,480m) undertaking this Design and Build Contract comprising a section of dual two-lane Road D3 (Metro Park Section) (MPS) of about 1 130 metres (m) long connecting Shing Kai Road at the former north apron and Road D3A at the former runway, including about 200m underpass with associated 320m depressed road, 360 m elevated road and 250m at grade road; a single two-lane Road L12d of about 47m long connecting Road D3A at the former runway; a salt water pumping station and associated water intake; a sewage pumping station; and landscaped decks of about 380m long in total with a minimum width of about 11 m above Road D3 (MPS) and landscaped area adjoining Road D3 (MPS) providing a total of about 3.9 hectares of public open space.
They were employed by HyD and they managed to have both Package 1 (NEC Option A) and Package 2 (GCC) contracts (totally over 2km noise barrier with total contract value over HK$1b) successfully completed. This project comprises 2 packages; Package 1 – Retrofitting of Noise Barriers on Tuen Mun Road (Town Centre Section) and Package 2 – Retrofitting of Noise Barriers on Tuen Mun Road (Fu Tei Section). Package 1 covers about 700m long existing Tuen Mun Road section between Kam Hing Building and Lakeshore Building. Package 2 covers about 750m long existing Tuen Mun Road section between Brilliant Garden and Lam Tei Interchange. These two road sections are proposed to be retrofitted with noise barriers/enclosures. They have assisted HyD to win “NEC Transport Project of the Year” Award in 2020 with this Tuen Mun Noise Barrier (Town Centre Section) contract. Our Head Offices’ involvement had enabled both contracts running smoothly adhering strictly to programmes.
They were the main Contractor’s Designer (contract value HK$341m), to carry out the design of site formation, infrastructure and building works (including MiC design) for the provision of temporary quarantine facilities at Penny's Bay in a fast-track manner following the outbreak of COVID-19. The scope of contract includes design and construction of temporary quarantine camp, comprising 300 quarantine units using Modular Integrated Construction, completed with site formation, infrastructure works and ancillary works. The site area is about 2.6 ha. Their team has fully demonstrated our unity and strength contributing our devoted and concerted effort to help the community against this virus.
