The Hong Kong Palace Museum is an important art and cultural facility situated in the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong. Based around a contemporary interpretation of classic Chinese visual and spatial aesthetics, the museum design builds on a concept of linked courtyards translated into a vertical series of atriums that draw the visitor upwards.
Located adjacent to the Art Park and facing Victoria Harbour, the façade system consists of 4,022 unique double curved aluminium cladding panels with thousands of structural steel supports at the back. This exceptional complex system shapes the personality of the main reinforced concrete structure.
