Hong Kong • 17 December 2022 – The Construction Innovation Expo 2022 (CIExpo) that jointly organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the Development Bureau (DevB) of the HKSAR Government and the Centre of Science and Technology Industrial Development (CSTID), Ministry of Housing and Centre of Science and Technology Industrial Development, Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China and successfully concluded today. Over 170 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions participated in the 5-day CIExpo, which was well recognised by the industry and the general public, attracting over 21,000 visits and 11,000 visitors. 7 summits and international conferences were successfully organised. CIExpo served as a knowledge sharing and business incubator platform with business opportunities for the industry, bringing to Hong Kong the latest local and global construction technologies and promoting the up-to-trend information on enhancing construction productivity, safety and sustainability.
2022 marks the 15th anniversary of CIC, whilst the CIExpo also signified the new milestone on sustainability, innovation and technology development for construction industry. Ir Albert CHENG, Executive Director of the CIC said, “The CIExpo is the fruit CIC bears from our years of hard work of encouraging and leading the industry to adapt innovation technology, so as to transform and upgrade. CIC Construction Innovation Award, MiC Achievement Ceremony and Hong Kong Construction Common Data Environment Award Presentation Ceremony were also held during the CIExpo, to recognise the contribution of outstanding projects and teams, it propels the industry to further advancement.”
The CIExpo showcased a wide range of construction innovation solutions in its four thematic zones, namely “Industrialisation”, “Digitalisation”, “Automation” and “Modernisation”. Government officials, renowned experts, academics and entrepreneurs with engineering and technology background are invited to be as speakers and shared insights during CIExpo’s Global Construction Summit, Greater Bay Area Construction Summit, International Conferences on MiC, Construction Digitalisation, Construction Safety & Health and Green Construction. In addition, to keep the industry abreast of market needs and changes, a business-matching zone was set up on-site as a one-stop shop to promote hybrid business networking, discover lucrative opportunities and offer practical solutions.
Besides, the CIC arranged various technical tours to present 8 successful local cases on 16 December, including the Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant, Kai Tak Sports Park, Student Residence at Wong Chuk Hang Site of the University of Hong Kong, Organic Resources Recovery Centre Phase 2 (O · PARK2), The Quayside, Sai Sha Road Widening Works, Site Formation Works at Kwu Tung North and Fanling North New Development Areas and Shek Kwu Chau Integrated Waste Management Facilities Phase 1.
